Situated on a horse farm in Potomac, Maryland, this new home was influenced by the surrounding agricultural buildings and their simplicity. The plan is organized around a flagstone circulation spine, off of which branch open informal rooms filled with natural light. Simple vernacular materials and board and batten on a stone foundation integrate the building with the land. The forms and texture of materials highlight an austere design.
